Our first beginners run of 2015. A great turnout despite the rain.

Summer Championship 2015

Just past the half way stage with 9 events to go. The only change for the top spots is Karen Baildon now equal on 138 points with Lee Kaznowski in Division 2. No change at the top in the Premier and First Divisions with Jim Wheldon and Jackie Walters leading the way. With 9 events remaining it is still not too late to win a mini trophy for completing 6 events Everyone can take part on a level playing field. All runners are age graded and individual target times are set for a given distance after a base time has been achieved for that distance on your first qualifying race. The Championship is divided into three divisions so you compete against other members with a similar age graded performance. Points are awarded based on age graded times with ten bonus points awarded for a PB.

Good luck for the forthcoming season. Next race Bradford Parkrun 25th July.

Airedale Athetics Off Road Summer Challenge 2015

The Baildon Canter and Widdop were both fast races. Unfortunately the first three over the line in the Canter, including Baildon's Michael Malyon, had taken the wrong route and didn't feature in the prize list, but the pace was electrifying. Baildon Runners and Saltaire Striders were both well represented with Gareth Holme next home for Baildon in 21:41 followed by team mate James Bryson, who won MU23 in 22:20..
Darren Kay (CVFR) set a new course record at Widdop. Queensbury and Baildon finished 8th and 9th men's teams and Baildon's Kate Walter and Linda Carey added the joker points to their growing individual scores.
Ian Hartman's points from Widdop take him back to the top of the individual league, where Rebecca Langdon, Gareth Holme and Rob Myers, also from Baildon, occupy second, third and fifth spots. Baildon leads the team league followed by Saltaire. Queensbury has moved into third place ahead of Eccleshill and Skyrac.
